United Gaming - Rules

Disclaimer

The staff team will review every report on a case-by-case basis. Due to the human nature of RP, a rule cannot be written for every instance. Therefore, the staff team reserves the right to apply experience and judgment on each report and as a result, the outcome may differ from one report to the next.

RDM (Random Death Matching) -

  • Killing/injuring a player or NPC without valid roleplay reason or prior interaction.

  • Always give the other player a chance to respond before going hostile.

  • This will be judged on a case by case by staff, if staff decide there is not sufficient roleplay around the scene, it will be classed as RDM.
VDM (Vehicle Death Matching)

  • Using a vehicle to harm players or property without valid RP reason or initiation, including nudging cars to gain an advantage when players are exiting.

  • The only exception is if you are under attack and your escape route is blocked.

Not Valuing Life

  • Treat every situation as if it’s your character’s last.
  • If you’re at a clear disadvantage, comply with demands.
An example of this would be:

  • Throwing your vehicle in the path of a speeding vehicle with the intention of having it crash into you.
There are some accepted exceptions to the NVL rule. These include (but are not limited to):

  • In a vehicle, driving away from a firearm that is being pointed at you.
  • As a police officer, engaging an individual with a hostage once sufficient negotiations have broken down.
  • As a criminal, fleeing from a police officer brandishing a firearm, when you have good reason to believe they may not shoot you.
  • If the person with the weapon is at a major disadvantage.
Players must note that these situations are judged on a case-by-case basis.

Meta Gaming

Metagaming is defined as the use of information your Character does not have - gained outside the bounds of your Character's experiences and memories.

Ninja Looting

Ninja looting is defined as the looting of players, vehicles or stashes without a sufficient level of interaction or roleplay.

Voice Identification

You may not identify a masked player through their voice to gain an advantage.

Powergaming/FailRP

Powergaming is defined as the use of mechanics and abilities outside of the normal function of GTA 5 and FiveM, as well as the use of in-game mechanics to force RP to a desirable conclusion and block counterplay.

Some examples are (but not limited to):

  • Using /me to gain an unreasonable advantage (For example: /me holds knife to neck).
  • Forcing a Player to withdraw money, items, or any other assets under threat of violence. You can rob them for cash.
  • The usage or cancellation of emotes/animations during PvP activities.
  • RP’ing actions whilst carrying out other actions - like carrying someone while driving.
  • Exploiting a GTA/Script Mechanic for your own benefit - i.e. Starting a Robbery, leaving and later returning to collect the rewards.
  • Calling out locations when in a downed state.
  • Using the respawn feature during an active scene.
  • Escorting a player who is not cuffed or downed, so that they cannot have any counterplay.
  • The use of the 5th seat or /seat 5 to instantly exit a vehicle in conflict scenarios.
  • Moving furniture using the in-game editor to conceal items like this is considered exploiting and powergaming, and is strictly forbidden, secret rooms, however, are allowed as long as they comply with server rules.

Corruption within the Emergency Services & LSJ

You cannot engage in corrupt roleplay without first gaining permission from the United Gaming FiveM Management Team via a Staff Report in the United Gaming Discord.

Police Equipment

Stealing PD equipment is only allowed when it is reasonable and justified by roleplay, however the roleplay consequences for doing so are severe.
It must not be done with the sole intention of taking the equipment.

You are not allowed to rob police equipment during a hold out, each case will be reviewed by staff on a case by case situation.

Example:

  • During a shootout with PD, you run out of ammo and pick up an officer’s weapon to continue the roleplay — but return it once the scenario ends.
Unreasonable or pre-planned thefts will lead to severe punishments.

Not Valuing Freedom/Cop Baiting

You must value your own freedom at all times without any roleplay reason. If you lose the police, for example, you cannot return to the scene to help a friend, you must leave the scene completely. This can also be considered as cop-baiting.

Green Zones and Players

A Green Zone is defined as an area in which hostility may not be initiated. These areas are:

  • Pillbox Hospital and Central Hospital.
  • This also includes the immediate surrounding areas (car park outside, entrance to hospital etc).

Combat Logging and Combat Storing

Combat Logging

  • Logging out or quitting the game during an active roleplay situation to avoid continuing the RP.
Combat Storing / Trashing

  • Storing an item or vehicle in a stash or trashing an item during an active roleplay situation.

  • After escaping another gang or police, you must wait 10 minutes before storing items or vehicles.

Heist Rules

  • Motorbikes cannot be used as a primary escape vehicle when doing a crime.
  • Heists cannot be started within 30 minutes of a server restart.
  • Gangs cannot intercept and attempt to steal a heist at any time, this includes the pursuit after the heist or police response.

Hostile Roleplay

Rule of 6 / Player Limit Guidelines

Criminal Heist Participation Limits

Heists and crime activities are capped at a maximum of 6 players per group.

PD Heist Participation Limits
  • Rule of 8: Max 8 people in any active scenario unless stated otherwise.
  • Rule of 12: Panic Buttons, Gang v Gang shootings and large scale heists.
  • Rule of 18: Pre-planned Raids
  • Uncapped Limit: Attacks on Government Buildings

Conflict Participation Limits

Civilian and criminal conflicts are restricted to 6 players on each side. For police, specific protocols apply, especially in cases of gang-related violence or high-alert situations, which may sometimes require more than 8 officers.

Turf Boundaries

If you are attacked on your turf and already have more than 6 members present, your group can defend as-is, but you cannot bring in additional players who were not on your turf at the time of the attack.

You may not retreat to your turf in order to increase your number cap.

Vehicle Limits

You are limited to 3 vehicles per scene. Police vehicle limits will be based on their SOPs.

Scamming

Players are only allowed to scam other Players for illegal items in Roleplay.

It is not permitted to use Out-Of-Character communication to aid in your deception.

Robbing a player

  • You must only take items that you have a roleplay reason to take.
  • You may not kill a player with purely the intention of robbing them.

Clip Requirement

All players are required to record clips of their shootouts or hostile interactions. Failure to provide these clips upon request from Staff may result in disciplinary action, including potential bans. Please ensure recordings are readily available to avoid penalties, these clips must have audio and be of 2 minutes length.

The first offence is a 2 day ban.

Each offence after the first is a two week ban.

Soundpacks, Graphics & Shadows

  • Modifications must not give an unfair advantage (e.g., louder footsteps, ragdoll and headshot noises, removing foliage or shadows or using reshades for better visibility).

  • Shadows must remain enabled at all times.
Abusing sound and graphics packs will be an instant 30 day ban.

Gang Roleplay:

  • A gang can have no more than 15 members. Associates don't exist.
  • You cannot steal crafting tables, materials, weapons, drugs and any other items that belong to the organisation before leaving or being blooded out, unless clearly stated and kept separate.
  • GangRP is a privilege, not a right - if we think your RP is not appropriate/in good faith/of a low quality, members will be banned from Gang RP.
  • Use of real gang names is prohibited.
  • Rejoining the same gang is not permitted for 3 months, unless explicitly approved by gang staff whereby roleplay dictates.

Unfit for Community

Players who consistently display behavior that undermines the integrity of the server and the experience of others may be deemed Unfit for Community.

Players who, through repeated actions, show that they are not here to contribute to a healthy, immersive, or respectful environment. This includes but is not limited to recurring toxicity both in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC), this includes saying things like “cringe, freak & weirdo” to players, a persistent fragging mentality where shootouts are prioritised over roleplay, and ongoing low-quality roleplay (LQRP) that disrupts immersion or lowers the standard expected on the server.

Even if individual incidents do not violate a specific rule on their own, a clear pattern of behavior that reflects poor conduct will result in action under this rule.

Medical Rules

New Life Rule

Upon using the Respawn feature, your character forgets all circumstances surrounding their death. Players may not enquire about how they "woke up with a headache" - this includes if you are blooded out of a gang, you must forget ALL information about the gang, its locations, stash houses etc.

  • If you receive hospital medical treatment from a downed state, you cannot return to that scene, unless using the Witch Doctor feature..
    • An exception to the rule is: A PD officer may return to an active scene after 1 hour from their downed state. However, a PD officer cannot return to a raid until the whole raid has concluded.

Dying within Roleplay

Dying (0bpm) within roleplay now means that you must kill off your character and delete them.

If you wish to kill your character in the roleplay, it must have a roleplay reason behind it, you cannot just kill off your character because you want to.

This means you will always survive your injuries no matter the severity. Despite this, you are still encouraged to roleplay all injuries to a high level.

Perma-Deaths

Perma-deaths on the server are a significant event, and roleplayers should consider the gravity of the decision to end their character's story. Such actions can have major implications, potentially catalyzing dynamic and wide-reaching events within the server community.

Things to note with this:

  • You will get your current garage of cars that you have bought through the UG Store or other means (IRL Money Purchases, you must provide proof of this in a ticket that you open to claim these), comped back to you. These will be comped as standard cars, no customisations applied. They will return stock unless there are essential body parts that need to be added. (People who have these cars, will know what we are referring to)
  • These are full character wipes, you will lose your skills, your money, your contacts, your relations etc, you will be starting from fresh on the new character that you create.

If you wish to perma, you should do it in chat: /ooc Perma. This makes everyone around you aware, so they can adapt their roleplay.

Helicopter & Plane Rules

To ensure fairness and maintain immersion in the city, the following updates have been made to helicopter and plane regulations:

Helicopter Rules

  • Flying in the city: Helicopters are permitted to fly in the city but must maintain a high altitude at all times.
Landing Zones:

  • In the city: Land only on designated helipads.
  • In Sandy Shores, Grapeseed, Paleto Bay or Islands surrounding the city: You are not required to use a helipad but may not land on roads.
Usage in Getaways

  • Helicopters cannot be the primary getaway vehicle. However, they can be used after a pursuit has lasted for 15 minutes.
  • Shooting: Firing from a helicopter is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
